Departmental History

The department of Zoology was established with the establishment of institution in 1967. The department has given 03 administrators to the college. The founder principal late Mr. S. M. Wankhede, Ex-Principal Dr. B.P. Dhore and Dr. N.B. Bhusari were from this department. Total 03 faculties are engaged in teaching UG classes. Experts from various biological fields are invited to deliver their lectures. Department emphasize on co-curricular activities for the students through arranging field visits, excursion tours and bird watching sessions. Extension activities such as wild life week celebration, Ozone day celebration, Worlds Sparrow day, Blood group detection, Haemoglobin checkup, Blood donation camp, guppy fish culture, beekeeping and Vermicompost plant are run successfully by the department. The research laboratory of the department is recognized in 2000 by Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University, Amravati to conduct research work for the award of Ph. D. degree of the University with 08 sanction seats.
